Should I Set Up Company Myself Or Go Through Accountant

    (Question above )

I intend to go with one of the accountancy firms here - NW, SJD maybe but SJD charge 125 for company formation.

I heard it was easy to do by myself - soo...is that the case? Or is it not worth the hassle.

    - Obvious Newcomer

    Merci!

£125!! Jeez, however will you afford that?

I mean, in my case that represents 0.00008% of my total income since setting up my company...

As an accountant, I would say it is better to get your chosen accountant to do it for you. That way, the shareholdings, directors, co secretary, etc are set up properly having regard to your circumstances, and you have a decent set of memo and arts that don't need to be changed to suit you. You wouldn't believe the amount of time we spend "correcting" the company formations done by the on-line cheapies where the shareholders/directors havn't known enough about the process to get it right, but thought they had. And no, I'm not just saying this to tout for business, in fact, for contractors on our monthly package, we don't charge anything at all for the formation, so it is completely free - and still some want to do it themselves, pay for the privilage and get it wrong!!!

NW will do it for "FREE" as it's already included in the cost per month.
