    Extra £££ for London Time

So I'm onto a contract interview next week (looks like I can hopefully be the only interviewee) but its based in london (Heathrow to be precise).

Currently based in Leicester and have no plans to change this. Now there are a lot of considerations that need to be made about an increase in rate because unlike the other 2 contracts I've done this isn't 15 minutes door to door.

Based purely on a hotel per night what do you think I am looking at? £80 / £90 per night to cover expenses?

Premier Travel Inns are looking like £60-£80 per night so a little extra for the hassle as well.

Anyone got any links to those hotel/flats that london seems to have around the heathrow area.

I did a gig a few years back in Heathrow and I could only get the odd night in a hotel as there were too many people booking back to back weeks on the trot. As Heathrow is the *rse end of the world anyway (not to mention a little noisy) I went and found a simple but nice enough B&B in Kew for £28 a night inc breakfast. Probably gone up a bit now but it can be done. I'll see if I can dig out the name of the place if I can.

I've spent most of the past 5 years at / around Heathrow.

How nice to you want your hotel to be? What facilities? If you aren't walking / using public transport, do you have parking - otherwise it's £10+ / day.

How close to site do you want to be? (And whereabouts at Heathrow are you working - it's a big place).

If you want to mail me who the client is, I know of several who have very good discount rates / accommodation schemes.

I know it (and it's sole occupier)...it's a bit away from the main hotels etc on Bath Road.

Not sure about where to stay within walking distance, should you not fancy driving / parking every day. That said, public transport is excellent around Heathrow (well, relative to most of the country), with the added advantage that lots of free buses.

You're certainly pretty close to the Premier Travel Inn on Bath Road. I've only stayed there a couple of times, but as budget chain hotels it's not bad. Way better than the IBIS just down the road.

You're also walking distance from Hatton X, so if you could face the tube everyday that gives you more options.

If I was in your shoes, I would either:
                  1. Stay in a decent hotel with good facilities, gym etc - e.g. Rennaissance on Bath Road.
                  2. Rent somewhere in a smaller town / village a short drive away (e.g. Beaconsfield, Windsor). Or into London, e.g. Richmond.

Both would be covered by your £80/day figure.

If you want to go for the lower end of the market, people I know have rented bedsits etc around Heathrow - loads of them advertised and some are cheap (you get what you pay for!)

Depends what you want to do in your evenings / if you are staying weekends etc.

Aye. I have decided that £100 a day extra ought to cover it.

Will see how much I can wangle re: home working as I really dont want to stay in London for a day longer than nessecary.
