So safe to assume for now brollies are ok still? and possible a better option if you have just come out of an MSC as HMRC will be targetting those people?

      Thanks
Yes brollies are fine if you want to be paid as an employee yet get none of the benefits and pay more NI and fee's, personally I want what I am owed as a flexible dynamic professional running a business.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Yep, agreed. I have said many times that umbrellas are a fine way to work, provided you don't mind being an employee with no rights and provided you don't mind working to fund some other company's profits. I prefer to keep my work and my profit in house, and I am never going back to being anyone's employee.
        Blog? What blog...?

Brollies are fine. Better for people who can't be bothered to do about 20 mins a month of admin, or who will only be contracting for a few weeks.

Otherwise, Ltd Co is the only option.

Financially, whatever the circumstance (IR35 or not), you will always be better off with your own Ltd Co.

And the Revenue will not be targetting those coming out of MSC's, unless they go out of an MSC into a new "scheme"
P.S. What Spreadsheet? Revolutionising the contracting market again.

I think it was you who convinced me to have this mindset!

People are scared of a bit of paperwork, I don’t want to do it but then it saves me about 8k a year so the choice is made up for me.

I have 3 accountants I am looking at....

                SJD Accountacny
                PLAN IT
                Accountancy.IT Ltd

Any thoughts on any of those very welcome. I just canot work out how some accountants can charge nothing for company setup and charge very low fees for monthly accounting in comparison to others that charge £100 plus for company setup and thennearly £100 a month.

                  Another one worth a try

I've just switched, and so far excellent.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

thats fine yet how many contractors (thinking mainly about the huge rafts of help desk staff, coders, programmers, testers etc etc etc) who actually are inside IR35 but were hedging their bets hoping they would not get investigated and use a Ltd co purely for tax avoidance reasons and not because they actually wanted to be in business for themselves.

so come on then all you entrepaneurs?? send us the links to your website where you advertise your business ---- show us some adverts you have placed in trade mags and local rags ----- like a proper business

send us a scan of your business cards and other company staionary ----- show us your 'companies' training plan........
