For those of you stuck in the office all day then you cannot claim this expense but for those of us who are out all day at different sites all the time then I presume it is a bonafide claim.
Yes. Your client's office is regarded as your normal place of work and you cannot claim subsistence when at that site. Any day that you travel to/work at a different site you can claim legitimately.

Also, if you normally work at your own office, then any day that you visit the client's site you can claim legitimately.

OK, your funeral. In my original post I said "There is no such thing as a lunch allowance unless you are working for someone else, in which case use their rules whatever they may be", which is you as an umbrella client, if you hadn't realised. The rest of the discussion is about people with their own companies.

It all stops for brolly users and MSCs on April 5th anyway, doesn't it - or did you miss that minor detail?

Funnily enough, GIANTS' expense policy now clearly states that receipts ARE required even for subsistance.....

Get your missus to make sandwiches, godammit. Make her a paid employee of YourCo and reap the benefit that way. Other companies have caterers, so why not you? Keep the receipts for the bread, marg, ham and crisps though won't you

This is a contactors' board Flubster so I'm sure you meant keep the receipts for the beluga, blinis and bolly.
