    Accomdation expenses

    Hi All,

I'm thinking about moving closer to work temporarily because the journey to Maidenhead everyday is killing me. As I understand this expense can be claimed against tax, one of the options available is to rent a room in a house close to work (it's cheap and its got broadband), however I was wondering how to get a receipt from somebody like this when they are not a registered business?

    Any ideas?

    TIA

    Anthony

Get them to write out eg

    Received £2000 for 1 weeks rent of a room - from xx/mm/yy to yy/mm/yy
They ned to date and sign it.

    File in your accounts
Thats all I've done - my accountant is happy.

And so will Mr Landlord's Tax Inspector. A nice juicy tax evader to prosecute.

Actually - the amount I put in was extreme - but the actual amount paid is BELOW the rent-a room scheme amount - so she shouldn't have any issues
I just felt like putting a daft amount on the post!

Where do you get 'She' from?

The "she" referred to my landlord - or landlady to be precise
            OK
