in my opinon I only use large agency's like MODIS and LA International, they pay me every week with out fail, even if I find a nice contract with a small agency I don't even apply, just not worth the hassle.

The situation is the client outsourced their email migration to another company who contracted me direct no agencies involved for the length of the project. 8 months in and after making noises that my October fee hasn't been Paid (30 day terms) November to be paid at end of December etc...

So I'll join to the queue and try and negociate terms with the client

8 months to migrate some e-mail? Bit long do you not think? Is it literally just using new servers or is it writing some form of custom e-mail?

But now the extra bumper christmas present has been they owe 2 and 1/2 months fees and have now gone in to receivership/administration.

Have you processed all the invoices? You might be able to claw some back by going direct to the client.

8 months would be perfectly reasonable for a decent size corporate migrating from, for example, Lotus Notes to Exchange/Outlook. Planning, determining strategy, testing processes, new client software on every PC, new mail servers, migration of all old email boxes, no email to be lost during migration, developing training materials, training users in new client app, users distributed around the country/world etc etc - thats not a trivial exercise.

Bit long tell me about it...

It's been a balls up from the start....

without going into detail, in house politics from the project team right up to board level of a well known investment bank saying migration.... not over my dead body result from 8months work so far 400 migrations when the target was 3000 users in 6 months.
