Hope Simon doesn't mind me speaking for him, but...

Contractor Umbrella only run PAYE services and have never allowed you to claim non-legitimate expenses if I recall, so they actually won't be affected by the new legislation.

I agree with that comment about Contractorumbrella, but...
Parasol also operate PAYE - no divis etc (Not that I would recommend anyone to use them) They do claim the odd "dispensation" thing, but not as bad as the others on that list- and the question below needs to be answered by Simon
If those with Parasol can no longer claim expenses, can those with ContractorUmbrella? Both put your standard workplace as home, both operate pure PAYE, and so on. Come on Simon, clear up the confusion. If we are just talking divis etc, then you need to remove Parasol off the list on your website, as they do not pay them!

You have made a huge point on your website about "Giant, Brooksons, Parasol IT or Prosperity 4" and how nobody should use them, but you haven't mentioned "Contractor Umbrella". I'm sure I read on here that they are owned by yourself, I may be wrong.

Please enlighten me as to why you left that one off the list?!?!
OK, first of all I am not suggesting that no one should use any of those Companies. What I am saying is that anyone using them is going to take a huge pay cut come April and to consider their choices.

As Cowboy Bob says, Contractor Umbrella, which we own, has never made a point of selling expenses as being the reason to join them. They run a straightforward PAYE type affair.

Of course, I am always looking to drum up new business, but I hope that this is balanced with the advice I can give out on the boards from time to time.

Finally, it does seem slightly odd that the bulk of your posts are extolling the virtues of P4. Don't work for them by any chance?

Easy to clear up - the draft legislation states that people using a composite, managed or umbrella will only be able to claim expenses as if they were a normal employee. This would mean no home to work travel, £24 a day lunch and all the other claims made by certain outfits.

What this will do is to force out those who market their Company on the back of what you can claim as expenses.

No, I work in recruitment and hands up, Prosperity4 are on our PSL along with 3 other umbrella companies, But all 4 on our PSL only run PAYE and no option of dividends.

I just need to make sure we have the correct info.

Does the budget actually state that all dispensations will be taken away? Or is it targeting Dividend payments?

            Thanks

It's been said at least three times now. The worker is an employee of the parent company, hence only gets employee-type expenses. He won't get dividends. He won't get work-related expenses unless he is sent off site.

The more relevant question you should be asking is since he is now an "employee", who is going to pay for employment protection, holiday pay, SSP, pension rights, training, maternity leave....?
