Accountants
I think I Know who this one is......suspect it's a communication problem, but please drop me a message if there is a problem and I'll see if it's still ongoing.Comment

Accountants are crap?
==> humour mode on!
You mean there ARE accountants that are crap? I am shocked! Do you think it's right to malign these fine upstanding members of our community in this way. Surely, it's totally unreasonable of us to expect these guys to work hard for us as well as having to spend time collecting and counting their fees?

I pay £90 per month and mine is bollux. Will be changing this year but not decided who - Anybody know any good ones in the north west - closer to Rochdale the better!Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
I preferred version 1!Comment

Who?
Since I am in the process of changing accountants, it would be useful to know which accountant you are currently with. Are they mentioned/discussed here? I'm moving from SJD after only a couple of months.
Thanks, AlanComment

Seeing as accountant can get a lot of stick on here what do people think is reasonable to expect from one?
Service levels such as answering email/phone in X amount of time?
Reminding you when something is due or you need to do something?
A breakdown of what to expect/timescales from your very first signing up then throughout the year?
It's nearly Chrismas, hug an accountant

I think you should expect all of the above, you details processed the same day, annual accounts within a few weeks of the year end date, and ensure that your accountant knows what is in your accounts! That may sound obvious but we have come across several accountants (after client transfers) who do not!Originally posted by EpiphoneSeeing as accountant can get a lot of stick on here what do people think is reasonable to expect from one?

Provided you keep your accountant upto date with paperwork most will do a good job.
