What makes you think that the lawmakers give a tuppenny stuff what you or I or anyone thinks?

The ONLY place that any type of opinion is considered is in the public consultation phases of some legislation and unless the opinion fits into a few boxes they've decided to report on then it will be rejected anyway. Now if you were a very large donor to party funds there's a possibility that lip service would be paid to your concerns.

If you are going to write a letter to a politician, you need to be brief and to the point. A thousand word essay isn't going to be read. I'm surprised you think it will.

Compose a TL:DR section and send only that.

I joined PCG when it was formed hoping they had some hope of changing things and restricting IR35, they didn't (but do provide some discounts )

I've responded to every survey I've seen on this subject, no impact

I've written to my MP using my own experience rather than a boiler plate from somewhere, appears to have been ignored

If you have a suggestion on how to get our voice heard please share it

You're the one waving your efforts for the admiration of the masses as if you deserve some type of medal, why should anyone else who has wasted their time posting a latter to their MP or a minister post theirs? Do you see it as a competition of some sort?

I have NOT written to my MP, she's a hard lefty and less likely to support my views than she is to be elected Grand Mufti of Bradford. Even if she wasn't she would just trot out the approved ministerial line anyway.

Climb down off your high horse you will bang your head on the gateway when you're trying to catch the outrage bus.

I have, forget it, your views to NOT COUNT to the politicians, they don't give a damn what you think, they just give the impression they do prior to the 5 yearly elections.

NAT doesn't live and work in the UK so no point.

I wrote to mine editing IPSE's letter.

But yet NAT say's being in one long contract for oh, say 9 years, with the same client doesnt make you part and parcel of the client's organisation and, its 'how you work that counts.'

Sadly, I think most of what NATS can be taken with a pinch of salt with regard to UK circumstances.

I was apparently proving what you are shouting at me, that we don't count, so it's not worth trying. Oh, don't bother replying, your opinion doesn't matter according to your own posts.....

                    That he is right about.

You need to make sure every extension is for a separate deliverable.

No your opinion means the square root of sod all to your MP and even less to the Treasury and HMRC.

I'm not shouting at you, I'm pointing out that you are getting wound up over something completely predictable as if it was something new.
Here's news for you, unless you have a lot of influence and what you want fits their existing agenda (or pushes a public outrage button like a toddlers corpse on a beach) then you get the metaphorical equivalent of "Yes dear". It has always been this way and it's never going to change while the current "democratic" system exists unchanged here.
If you and I and every registered elector in this country got to vote on every issue by discrete vote then it would be different, but that's not practical for countless reasons, not the least being that 90%+ of the voting population are too disinterested or stupid to make a rational decision.
