Starting to have regrets joining Clearsky Accounting!
I agree, but bad service combined with the astronomical cost you're about to start paying, you should just get out now before you pay them in 1 month what you can pay someone else for 3 months
paying more for something doesn't necessarily mean it will be better, as you've discovered over the last 3 months
Yes I am starting to realise that but I did think I would receive superior service as they promised. I didn't specifically think `Oh thats the highest priced package that must be better` it just seemed ok at the time and their sales patter was excellent too
Are you with NW Stek? Do you know if they let you use their address as your registered office?
I believe they do but at a cost.
Before jumping ship you might want to check what you've signed up for. 3 months free would suggest that you're committed to a longer time period. Seldom would a business throw free services without a quid pro quo, such as a minimum term. Unless they're very confident of their standard of service which, from your op, seems unlikely.
Completely happy. I'd say they are one of the more 'staid' accountants, they will dissuade you from doing anything dodgy or attempting to engage in some creative accountancy (we all get daft ideas we've read about on the internet!) but like any other accountancy firm, they can't do everything, for that you need a book-keeper at home as well to organise your expenses and invoices etc, and even then you can't completely wash your hands of it, not least because the veracity of the accounts is ultimately and solely down to you as the proprietor.
As a contractor you can never 'set and forget' this part of the deal I'm afraid, no matter how much you pay.
Been with them since 2011, Danny Horner's your man, though he only likes people who support Bolton Wanderers, as we both do. If you support United, well.......
Any different to most large accountancy companies? I recall going to initial meetings and talking to a senior staff member, if not the boss. Once I signed up, any enquiries I made were handled by the office cat.

The above sounds like a very healthy client/accountant relationship to me.
