    Government gateway website changes

    I've just received an activation code through the post so that I can make NI payments. Between requesting access to the service and receiving the code though the post the website seems to have been updated and now isn't recognising one of MyCo's user id or password.

    Has anyone else had this issue recently? I'll call them in the morning to see what the problem might be but since it's not VAT reporting time till month end it's maybe not something anyone has come across yet?

    Are you sure you have the right access code for the service that you're trying to access? IIRC, they send a separate code for each service, which is a complete PITA. But, yes, the front end for some the basic HMRC services (or summary info for those services) has changed recently.

      Yeah, i'm trying to log back in using my normal user id and password in order to input the newly issued access code to get to a newly activated service. It won't let me into the site with the user id and password i've had for years - it seemed a coincidence that the website was updated and now i'm locked out.

          Try again tomorrow during office hours.

          I've found over the years the site randomly locks you out, so it's best to try and log on again during office hours or 48-72 hours later if you can't.

          Try and log in first with your VAT details as if you can log in with those the NI stuff should work.

          Edited to say: I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing some up date but don't bother to tell people. There are a few sites that still do this.
