    Dodgy Parasol Q (Possible spike)

Always a good idea if people are just scanning the threads...

So, who do we think it is?

Could be any one of the multitude that get bad press from this board !

On a completely unrelated subject, I notice that another one with a P has recently got a transcribed phone conversation removed from the board because they are claiming copyright over every conversation they have on the web. Well it doesn't make sense to remove the piece because the conversation was actually had on the phone which makes the piece a reported conversation which in my opinion is impossible to copyright. Maybe CUK were being over cautious ?

Anyhow, it seems there's a bit of a game being played out here. Post a thread entitled 'Has anyone used <<insert competitor>>, they ripped me off' and get a couple of fellow ranch-hands to join in.

Trouble is, it's so easy to do and you could use it to either promote your product or denigrate the opposition. Question is, how to stop it ? How about filtering out a list of company names from posts ?

You could just take the approach of responding "Prosperity4 lick balls" to every post that's an obvious advert by them slating their opposition. I intend to do that.

Maybe. Of course it could be a P4 competitor trying to get them an even worse name by pretending to be them pretending to be another competitor. No, there must be a better way. How about having a sticky thread on umbrella's which has maybe some voting and can only be posted by those with, say, 500 or more posts to their name.

I don't see how they could possibly get a worse name

I had a problem with my parasol.

Had a nice outside lunch yesterday and to keep the sun off my guests I had to put the parasol on a slope. It seems that the base was not adequate to keep it upright. So I had to drive a wooden spike through the base to topple it over.

Bet they wouldn't be bleating copyright if my post was in their favour. Hows about they learn the law instead of being scumbags? All posts are my own opinions etc etc.

Not much danger of that though
