Ars Technica are reporting that Microsoft are now offering a free subscription to TechNet Plus until the end of September - might come in handy for some.
Thanks. I signed up and indeed the option was there to buy for £0. I can't actually activate the service however because the "Activate my Subscription" page is not working!

I went through the activation process without issue about 10 minutes ago, but there are some comments on the Ars Technica article reporting probems with the pages - might be down to load as word spreads about the offer.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?
As it's a subscription I assume it's full whack next year or it doesn't work?
My understanding is that the subscription (and therefore access to the downloads) would cease at the end of September, but the product keys could continue to function - although continued use would contravene the terms of the EULA.
Beyond September you'd either have to stump up for a full subscription for continued access, or perhaps see if you can register with another Windows Live ID?

Good job I've got a big fat pipe into here. Now, how am I sorted for blank DVDs ......
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
It's a shame (but no great surprise) that the TechNet subscription expires before the official release of Windows 7 on October 22nd (as reported by the BBC).

Works for me - I am down loading SQL2008 and Server 2008 with keys
Note SQL2008 is "pre-piddled" according to MS
Spookey - so am I.
Done server - sql on queue
