No - you are making far too little.

Presumably you were happy with the £126 when you started. No matter, you're stuffed now anyway. You won't be happy with anything less than 80% of £400 and you ain't going to get it.

Time to move on and quote a higher rate next time.

Reputable agencies will tell you their cut, normally 10-15%. No harm in confirming this with the client and agency.

In your case they are taking the liberties(screwing you) but not illegal.

Please don't sign another contract with them!

first rule forget what the agency are gettting out of it you are setting the charge to the agency of what your confortable in getting.

If you don't like the rate either ask for more or don't accept. I have never taken a contract i was not happy with the rate of. And being a Test Manager i know what the agency are getting for their cut and all of my testers.
