    Investment Banking Contracts

    Hi All,
I am newbie. I have lots of questions in my mind. But One is bigger than the others. Whats the future of Investment Banking development in London. it keeps growing up or is there any clue to rapidly slowing down in 2016?

And whats the daily rate and price fluctuation.

Who knows how it will grow, certain areas are constricting, rather than growing at the moment?
Regulatory reporting and stabilisation of systems will continue to grow, especially as new regulations come into force.

Rates are dependent on what you do and experience you can offer, can be low as £350, can be as high £800 for a dev. The higher end will require specialist knowledge, however.

As for price fluctuation, negotiation is key.

I think you are asking the wrong question. I think you should be asking what you can bring to IBs. If it isn't much them you've a problem whatever the market. If it's a lot you'll be fine whatever happens.

The future of investment banking in London will be driven by lots of different factors. If I knew the answer to this, I'd be able to add a 0 to the end of my day rate.

Daily rate? Depends on your skills, experience and role. Cleaners generally get paid the worst, front office analysts with in depth SME skills the best.

          1. Investment Banks will keep losing money as their business model is in structural decline

          2. They will keep trying to cut IT budgets in order to maintain their lifestyle

          3. They will move jobs to India and 'some ex-mining/ship building town in Scotland'

          4. The IT systems will be worse than smaller shops who employ higher quality resources

          5. They will eventually go out of business.

          or.

They will reverse the decline and go back to the heady days of 2006.

Keep an eye on Thursdays results for an indicator, China has been keeping them afloat for a while, will be interesting to see what happens now China is in slow-motion-car-crash mode.

Thank you Bluenose, You wrote really good things than the others. I am aware of the Chinese market (emerging markets) situations. If EMs are falling down rapidly, then IT and finance sector will never stand up. So I want to learn market trends and whats will be in the future period.I have a whealty and good position in my permanent job. I dont want to lose my honey&milk in my hand to move and stuck in a contractor markets.

Maybe I am so curiou about the details but I have to be.

if someone wants to add more thing I want to hear allofthem.

Oh well, I thought my regulatory comment was valid, obviously not

I was being very serious, actually.

I have had to assist with hiring many times before, in IB, badly written communications, or, CV's go straight in the bin.

I expect high standards when engaging contractors, not taking care with communications, makes me doubt their other skills, too.
