So companies like this rely on up to 70,000 foreign workers to pick, sort and pack fruit and vegetables. They are more willing to get their hands dirty for low pay. The same is the case in many other British industries. Not many of us want to be employed cleaning up a slaughter house, for example, so eastern European workers are vital.

That doesn't support your point. It suggests that British workers don't want to be employed in dirty jobs at all.
Of course you can pay British workers more so that these "dirty" jobs start to become tempting, but don't squeal if your meat prices become like Switzerland - eating beef there is a rich man's game.
        Hard Brexit now!

Yep, lots of figures there proving that wages were depressed...Maybe, just maybe the British have become complacent in allowing others to do the work for them (ring any memories.) Just think, if it was just skilled workers,as Leavers want, then surely skilled workers salaries would also become depressed and so you could have something else to moan about...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Sorry I thought a bald statement from their trade association that they paid crap wages so they need cheap foreign labour would be enough to convince you.

No the British have a different cost base which means they can't afford to do the jobs. We could of course stop benefit and then everyone without a job would be desperate. A race to the bottom.

Sorry you boys are too thick to understand you are being played.

If there was a shortage of Labour and wages were to go up then the supermarket prices would go up so leaving no-one better off.

This is the kind of thinking that led to inflation in the 1970's, i.e. simply pay people more to make them better off.

It may be acceptable in your country to accept millions of migrants, stack them 10 to a room and allow slavery just so you can get your cheap coffee n danish in the morning and your fruit.

But if people live in the UK then we believe they should be entitled to live without fear of slavery or persecution and in conditions not akin to how you would house animals.

If that means that we have to pay an extra '£600' per year then so be it.

In terms of ringing any memories erm could you possibly have a think about what happened the last time a group of 'migrants' were willing to do all the jobs for lower wages in your country? - any bells ringing yet?

You understand that the reason these stories are coming out is because the problem is being addressed.

You need to be more wary of where the problem does not appear to exist - because that means it is hidden.

Nice sidestep on the issue of migrants willing to take the low paid work though.
