How did you open up your Touro to get to the drive inside? (NAS question)

So I got a bunch of these for building my HP MicroServer NAS thingy, per another thread
HGST Touro Desk Pro 4TB External Hard Drive - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Lots of people on that thread said they bought these jobs and opened them up to get the drive out.

    Did you use a hammer?

I can't see how to get into it without forcing my way in, splintering the plastic and wrecking the case.

    TIA!

EDIT, oh hang on, this video might help

Yep - that's the video I followed. I used a screwdriver and knackered the case doing it.

When I started, I thought I might be able to keep the case for something, if I managed to eventually get into one of them easily. Five attempts - nothing reusable.

Why don't you just buy the bare drives?

When I bought mine, it was £15 cheaper per drive to buy them in the enclosure than outside of it.

Good find, because everywhere I looked, the bare drives were £150 but the enclosure was £125.

Anyway, it's done now. When I need more drives, I'll look at Scan. Thanks for the link

              Update for anyone who cares.

One of the Touro drives seems bad. It's failed unRaid's 'preclear' read-write testing. There were many many I/O errors.

Thus, any money saved on getting the drives a bit cheaper is now lost because one was a bad 'un and the warranty is now void.

              Bum
