Been using Pluralsight for MS exam material - not taken the jump and sat the tests yet but, the videos are of excellent quality and the prep material they give you seems legit too!Comment

Just cancelled Pluralsight
I'm on the bench now so I've started brushing up on some skills that I haven't used for a while. Last time I did this, I used Pluralsight and found it to be satisfactory so I went and subscribed again. When I couldn't find a current course on SSAS tabular, I went over to Udemy and found there were plenty of new courses on SSAS, so I tried one out. I was pleasantly surprised to find the course was much more interesting than the boring, rigid structure of Pluralsight classes. Seeing the instructor talking in the corner at least added a little variety, and seeing some charts and graphs livened things up as well.
Next up was a course on Reporting Services, once again Pluralsight didn't have much that was made in the last 5 years. Udemy has some that are fresher, I think I'll give them a try.
Since I'm not using many of the courses, I've cancelled the Pluralsight subscription and will probobly stick with Udemy in the future.
Anyone else have any suggestions for Microsoft BI training courses?Comment

The Pluralsight courses tend to be quite formulaic, and feel mass produced.Originally posted by hairymouse View PostI was pleasantly surprised to find the course was much more interesting than the boring, rigid structure of Pluralsight classes. Some of the Udemy instructors let their personality really shine through, sometimes that is a good thing, sometimes bad!
I'm still with Pluralsight, but agree it could do a better job.
One tip I would give for Udemy, is as soon as you buy it, start watching it to assess if you need to return (I think you can return it in 24 hours or something - one course i had was completley is disorganised, with a presenter with terrible personality)Last edited by reddog; 25 October 2019, 15:03.Comment
