    Home entertainment musings

To all you intelligent souls out there, I have a problem:

I have a powermac in the office where I store all my content (mp3's, ripped dvd's (owned by me obviously), home video etc etc etc). I want to be able to play all that on me telly and I also want some PVR functionality so I can record me sky programs/movies to it.

I don't want to use media center as I think i will have to copy all my content across (and I also think there will be huge DRM issues in the future with the MS offering) so how am I going to do this?

I looked at EyeTV which will allow me to play telly on the mac (which i dont want to do) but will allow me to record to the mac and also eyehome which will allow me to stream the content to the telly but there are issues like connecting the EyeTV to the sky box which is in the lounge, limited functionality of eyehome and a few other problems.

If anyone can come up with a good solution I'd like to hear it. I'm contemplating just giving up and getting sky+ and buring all my content to DVD from the mac...

    Ta muchly...

I did want a nice clean solution but I don't think there's one there for the Mac yet. I did look at MythTV but didn't fancy the effort. Thanks for the tip though...
