Hi,
Don’t flame me for this question this is not my usual bag but Ive been asked to sort it.
Basically I need to get a new SSL certificate for a internal website as its due to expire, the website url given out to the users contains the wide IP address so it’s https://bigbum.wideip.bg.com/8888/bigboob.jsp the physical name is https://ux123lon.bg.com/8888/bigboob.jsp .
Presently users get an certificate error when they go to the site via the wideIP url this is because who ever requested the certificate before requested it in the name of the physical server and not the wideIP. This time I want to request the certificate in the name of wideIP but before the previous guy left he said I need to make sure I get the wideIP name added to some lookup file that the companies uses so SSL knows about the wideIP, I could be talking cr*p, but Im sure he mentioned SAN entry or SAM entry ? Anyone know this stuff ?
Thanks
