Not really. During the radio blackout following Princess Di's demise I quickly ran out of CDs to play, then started on my LP collection.

I realised I had got used to CD length albums, not ones I had to change every 15-20 minutes.

banshee and amarok are popular on linux. VLC is probably the strongest player on any platform but won't sync with a mobile device.

Thanks. I tried banshee first and it has an iTunes library import function.

I just had to copy my iTunes stuff into ~/Music, point banshee at it and whoosh it was in.
