    USB External drive advice

    Compatriots

I have a Samsung Smart which has a PVR builtin to it. I went out and bought a 2TB external drive from Novatech. It is essentially a 2TB Seagate 3.5" HDD in an aluminium case. But it has one big problem, it goes to sleep after 5min. idle and the TV then can't access it. I don't know why, must be a bug in the TV. It spins back up find when attached to my laptop.
So what I need now is to return it. And then buy a USB HDD which can be set not to spin down. Needs to be 1TB+.

    Any experience and recommendations.

Is this not set on the host i.e. the TV?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Nothing that I can see. Apparently the TV is very fussy about the drives it can use. I figured until the firmware improves I could turn the power management off on the drive.
The drive does spin up..but seems like the TV just isn't waiting that extra half-second before timing out.
