    SQL2008 sysadmin and AD Groups

I am not a SQL guy by day but being roped in due to lack of other options.

At the moment the only sysadmin is a user who has left the organisation, I would like to have an AD Group be a sysadmin so anyone in that group get the permissions, firstly is this possible or can only specific logins be added to the sysadmin server role?

If possible I assume I have to add the AD group as a Logins and then assign this to the Server Role? This is only a dev box so its not the end of the world if I cock things up massively
