Win Software to make a webcam brighter?

I bought a cheap webcam at Te-scum. The driver that comes with the cam doesn't allow any brightness manipulation and the capture is a bit dark. I haven't even attempted on Linux, I'll try later.

Does anybody know of any freeware for XP that allows me to hack the brightness? Thanks and nice weekend.

<Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!
