    Kiwi Digital TV standards

Hi to any kiwis posting on here! Do any of you know if the digital TV standards are the same in NZ as here? i.e. if I buy a digital TV here will it work there?

    TIA.

If it has a built-in Freeview then that won't work in NZ, they have the same concept but use a different standard.

UHF wouldn't work either because that's different although that is currently being switched off anyway.

If you get a NZ Freeview or Satellite decoder then you can plug either of those into a TV brought over from the UK and I think that will work fine.

    That's second-hand information though, I didn't do it myself.

UPDATE: I should add, you will want the Sky box, you wont want to watch anything live to air, the saturation advertising is annoying.

TVNZ broadcast everything in HD, you can see the "delights" they offer in their schedule here http://tvnz.co.nz/tv

Sky Sports have an HD option, if you pay more.
