Any one in Testing / Quality Assurance

    Hello,
I live in australia and planning to come to UK later this year. A couple of questions

    1. What is the popular website for testing job ads
    2. Any testing consultancies
    3. What would be the rate for a Manual Tester with 6 yrs experience
    4. Which area in UK has most of the IT companies

Any information about testing contracting would be great!!

    Thanks,
    Ranga

There are no testing jobs in the UK at all, so dont waste your time.

Seriously though, the money is guff in manual testing. I can pick up 'locals' here (West Yorks) for sub £300 so it's not worth your commute from the other side of the world.

All the good stuff is involving some level of automated now IMHO. Agile testing is quite big right now and you don't have time to manual regression test everything in an Agile environment so things need to be automated to a degree to ensure good coverage.

Is yous skillset JUST manual? what approaches are you using / have used? All at the one firm o different clients?

All depends how the contract matches up to your experience and skillset. Have you used QC and QTP for example, or only excell spreadsheets for defect management and manual regression?

If only 'grunt execution' maybe around 180 to 200 a day.

If more test management / produce MTP / lead tester level, £300 to £350 is fairly achieveable.

              Hope this helps!
