    Joomla site hacked

One of my community Joomla 1.5 sites was hacked and defaced by a tool called "King Linz".

Not had much time to investigate as I've got to get through Xmas with family first but can see the hacker did his business from Ankara, Turkey.

Have temporarily closed it down and will bring it back up when sober.

Any Joomla experts out there got any tips for security?

I really like Joomla and use it for several sites. Unfortunately it is so popular it is a highly attractive target for hackers.

The only sensible plan is to subscribe to the Joomla email or RSS vulnerability feeds Joomla! Developer Network - Security News and patch ASAP.

Thanks for the link, will have to take security more seriously. I take it very seriously for banking portals, just need to do the same on my community sites.

Here was I thinking the sites were too small and insignificant for anyone to be bothered to hack. Hackers must lead very sad lives.
