    USB drives & RAID configuration

Anyone know if it is possible to setup two external USB HDD's in a RAID 1 (mirrored) configuration?

A quick trawl of the interweb seems to provide mixed messages.

    Anyone done this?

I think modern version of Windows can mirror stuff onto two disks - USB is tulip though and highly NOT recommended for anything like this.

This guy certainly managed it using LINUX The Thumb Drive RAID Experiment - Page 5 of 6 - Big Bruin I am not sure I would recommend it though.

If I wanted this for production use I think I would prefer a more robust solution than USB.

If you just need backup then rsync works very well.
