    Changing domain host

Okay, this should be simple but is proving a nightmare.

I have a .com domain with SpeedNames and I want to move this domain name to UKReg.

Sounds simple. Go to UKReg website and say "Please take control of this domain". Pay them about £10 for the privelege

Few days later get email from OpenSRS Support <[email protected]>

The current registrar, Ascio Technologies, Inc. for the XXXXXX.com domain
name rejected the transfer request you submitted. Pursuant to established
Verisign Registry procedures, the transfer is declined.

Please contact the current registrar listed above for a further explanation
    of the rejection.

    Thank you,

    Team UKReg.

So I email SpeedNames and get a canned response saying basically "It's a piece of piss, contact the new domain host and request the transfer".

I email [email protected] and get no reply.

I email UKReg and get no response.

How the **** do you transfer a domain from one fecker to another

    It's driving me nuts.....

Had a similar problem with a .co.uk domain and had to go to Nomninet to sort that out. You may have to go to whoever polices the .com domains but not sure who that is.

This time around I have more protection and used a domain park and can point the url to whereever I want.

It's possible you don't really 'own' the domain. Try a 'whois' query as see who is the administrative contact.
