    SAN certification

I want to break out of the ever diminishing returns of Microsoft support so I'm looking to break into something with relative longevity, I'm leaning toward Virtualisation and SAN as I have a good understanding of how they work but I'm still light on detail and I have no real world experience.

Any ideas on what route to take? Brocade?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Brocade was certainly the dogs danglies when I did this stuff, but you need to find a dynamic environment to get the hands on experience. In my case once it was installed there was little to do.

This was back in 2001/2002, so probably a bit soon for the rest of the market to catch on.

Very enjoyable if you are into this stuff, so go for it if you can, but look for an environment which will keep you busy.

Re "the ever diminishing returns of Microsoft support", I agree. From a recent e-mail discussion on ways to head:
