<edit>answered my own question - i had to open up the port in windows firewall (usually switched off because I use different firewall software</edit>
This seems really, really dumb. I have set up my new 64 bit windows 7 PC with my web-app, got it all working and speaking to various other products, done what i thought was the difficult bit of changing various app pools to allow 32 bit operations so that my "legacy" asp would run, and then comes the easy bit!
I have a win XP pro laptop (with IIS running) from the new PC I can browse to the laptop, but from the laptop I can't browse to the PC.
I can ping it, I can transfer files to and fro via shares etc etc, but cannot see the #*&$*$ homepage, I am clearly doing something stupid, I would be very grateful to anyone who can point out what,
