    Time is money.
Yeah, dont bother with the Windows hack thing because it is just that, a hack. its not licensed for that and you dont know what future updates will do to stop your hacked setup working.

The Mac Mini is superb and doesn't cost much, one thing though - get 2GB memory, i just bought the cheapest spec one (1GB) and have just upgraded it to 2GB and makes all the difference. I just bought direct from Apple so not sure where sells them cheaper, lots on eBay though. Make sure its a Core 2Duo 1.86 or better if buying second hand.

How good are the discounts though? $499 to pay for the membership - you've got to get some serious discounts on kit that is £470...

Off topic - but would you really buy a £400 second hand computer off ebay when you can get a new, better one for £470?

Depends how much you value your £70. Personally, probably not.

Also goes to show how well they hold their value...

Inclusive of VAT, you are not going to get a new one for less than £500. Apple are selling the lowest level mini for £510. There is virtually no competition on price in the mac world.

If it were me, I would simply go down the local reseller with the company credit card tomorrow.

Could keep an eye on their refurbished section:

But the new £510 entry level ones look a good spec so i'd just stump up. I bought mine for iPhone development but its now my main email/web/docs computer in the lounge as its so teeny and doesn't make any noise.

Although it doesn't really seem worthwhile paying $500 for a Select Membership to get a discount on a £510 computer.

@DP: Google around for independent Apple dealers, as they often come out a bit cheaper than buying direct, although probably only around £30 cheaper. However sometimes they'll have end-of-line stock of previous models with a decent discount.

You're tuliping us right? A man of your means would be buying an 8 core mac pro surely.
