How to type the Eszett (ß)

I use the UK Extended Keyboard, or Welsh as Windows calls it which makes it easy to get the French accents and the umlaut, but I can't find any way of typing the Eszett (that's the funny German ß), apart from the crude way of ALT + 0223.

Anyone know of a way of doing it on a UK keyboard? Presumably if I install the German keyboard I'll be able to do it, but then some of the other keys will be in the wrong place.

What do you English speaking working in Germany types do?
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Shift-Ins - before you do it Ctrl-Ins to copy it into buffer.

    HTH

P.S. Don't use this Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V, that's nooby way of doing it.

I have German and UK keyboard layouts set up at the moment. Left Shift + left Alt switches between them. The ß is where the - key usually is.

Edit: My main problem is that it's a German keyboard so the markings are pretty much useless when it's switched to UK layout.

Depending on where you need to type it, you could use autocorrect to change another character to the ß.

Copy and paste from your own post to wherever you need it.

Thanks for the one helpful reply.

I had no idea, but it turns out Microsoft have a free keyboard layout creator. So now I've modified my UK extended keyboard layout to have AltGR+S to be ß.
