Ultimate here - I use the BitLocker encryption that is exclusive to that edition.

I've bought Pro. That was from the special offer back in July when I think they were only doing Pro and Home.

I think you need Pro if you ever want to connect to domains. Not sure what else you get.

I installed Win7 Pro last night for first time.

According to the adverts, it was my idea, but browser search defaults to Bing, and it didn't come with iTunes, Chrome or Firefox installed.
