Wireless XBox 360 - connection slowed.

Dont kids piss you off, eh? Dad this aint working, Dad that aint working!

OK, under tiscali broadband, the XBox 360 with the g standard wireless adapter worked fine. No problems.

But I binned off tiscali (a massive and expensive mistake imo) to migrate to idnet. speeds of the broadband net connection plummeted and the XBox was now on a slow wireless connection.

So, after a month of messing around, I binned idnet off to migrate to adsl24. OK the broadband speed has shot up to 5.4MB/s which is better than tiscali's best of 4.2MB/s and made idnet's 2.9MB/s seem pants.

But, the wireless XBox is still frigging slow.

I updated the router's firmware I have (Netgear DG834N) to the latest version v1.02.15, when I first changed to idnet.

Has anyone had issues with this firmware? Why would a firmware update slow down a wireless connection?

The router was running under its shipped firware which was version 2!

I dont want to go back to this firmware as it means changing another adapter's firmware if I do and it was a pig to update to be compatible with the v15 on the router.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

WHS - it's not like you're going to move the 360 around a lot - it's stuck other cables such as A/V or power.
