Why is unbundled LLU broadband quicker..............

.......than broadband via a non unbundled LLU such as BT line and separate ISP ie IDNet, NewNet etc?

My connection speed now is absolute shyte, less than 2meg via idnet when I was getting average 3.8meg with tiscali (who are unbundled LLU)?
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

LLU is likely to be newer equipment, probably ADSL2 capable that helps improve all speeds. It is also bypassing expensive BT, so they can afford to offer higher speeds for same price.

How are you measuring the speed?

It's either the ADSL part of the connection being different - i.e. the LLU provider is using different equipment at the exchange, or it's the connection from the exchange to the ISP being better / less congested than the one provided by BT. If you're going off the speed your router says, it'll be the former. If you're going off a speed tester, it could be either, or even that the LLU ISP has a better connection to the speed test website.

      I have ADSL2 from Zen / BT.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
