    Free back up software

    Any suggestions for some free back up software to a USB drive, ideally automatic and incremental.

    The software that cam with the drive is pants. Keeps crashing.
    Microsoft Backup just fills the disk up
    My ancipent version of ghost doesn't run. Keeps crashing.

    It's an XP machine.

      I use ViceVersa for my USB sticks and external hard drives...very easy to set up different rules, runs in the background....I can highly recommend it!
      Gas masks don't fit snails...

        I use Cobian to back up all my Company stuff onto a USB device. Never had a problem on XP or Vista.

            I`ve used DOS combined with command line Winrar to create compressed backups of my data.

              Not sure if offline file sync in XP will give you what you need:
