Any particular reason for a laptop over a cheapo desktop/server box DP?
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

Yes. Built in UPS effectively, low power (so cheap on leccy), built in screen and keyboard, small size, quiet and portable. Most servers are none of these things and you don't get all that for £400 inc VAT with 4GB ram!

First listed spec of the Acer: Battery life 3 hours. Which is tulipe.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Ditto. My Acer laptop came with a Gypsy Curse. I pity the poor sod who bought it from me on ebay
