    Windows 7 and IE8

booted from disk, installed 64bit no issues, updated all drivers on first log on. am quite impressed.

    Much quicker, and smoother.

First thing i've noticed, IE8, runs like tulip! would show the boards on this forum, but not allow me to reply, the page just wouldnt load! Installed Mathon (as i've used this for years now!) and things are flying!

quite amusing that Windows runs great, but IE8 is dire!!!
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you!

I've finally finished my DIY chores for the day, so I'm hoping to get some time to install it this evening and have a play.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

Guess what I'm posting this from? Yes IE8 under W7.

Seems okay to me - except in 1024x768 all the smilies have crashed into the bar on the right, rather than be clipped by it.

I did have the fancy new taskbar stop working earlier.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

IE8 seems pretty fast. Noticeably faster rendering a page than IE7 under XP on the same (but not virtual) machine.

Do you think is worth me buying a cheap PC base unit to have a play?

The one I have doesn't meet the spec requirements.

Try adding this site to the Compatibility View list. I think it is under the Tools or View Menu. It may speed things up a bit.

All installed now - very quick install, seems generally zippy so far. No real problems with IE8 on here so far - full steam ahead!
