Excel Formulas - Insert a month number

    Hi,

I'm having a technical hitch with my spreadsheet.

I need to automatically insert a number to correspond with the month defined by a specific cell e.g Jan = 1, Apr = 4, but i need this to be input from a cell containing a formular which displayes the month as, for example Apr 08.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    if cell A1 = APR 2007

then to make cell A2 = 4 use:

    =MONTH("1 "&A1)

    Next one is chargeable
