I think QuickBooks is about the only thing I miss. Hmm, I got a lot of useful stuff done with Delphi too about 10 years ago - is it still around? The other Windows programs I used to use seem to have either vanished without trace or simply stagnated.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostIsn't it interesting that all the people using Macs say that, as time goes by, their need for Windows dwindles to one or two applications, which are either recondite in purpose, or are by definition tied to the Windows platform?
What? Not interesting?

Another QuickBooks die hard!Originally posted by Sysman View PostI think QuickBooks is about the only thing I miss. It says something about that package (and it's designers) that I still find it does everything I want after 14 years and I see no need to upgrade or change it.
I had a little fling with Delphi when it first arrived on the scene. Quite powerful and a nice IDE but it was the Pascal bit I could never get used to.
It's still going, although no longer owned by Borland.
You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Downside
I too use VMWare Fusion on a 24" iMac, with 4Gb of RAM. Works a treat. I wish I could get a VMWare image of the ClientCo Global Client, so I wouldn't have to use their somewhat dated laptop all day (it misses keystrokes FFS!).
I also only use WXP for Sage (again a very old version) and VS2005/2008. Everything else is done on the Mac.
However.... there is a downside to all this:
People in the office (VoodooFlux, for instance) will frequently question your sexuality. Luckily I am confident in mine.... and I have kid to throw people of the scent !!

It's not your ownership of a mac that throws your sexuality into question, it's the cross-dressing. And the missus/kid is just a front...Originally posted by HeliCraig View PostPeople in the office (VoodooFlux, for instance) will frequently question your sexuality. Yes, you are right. I should stop dressing like a man and acting like a woman. I shall come round to your desk in the morning and kick the living tulipe out of you in order to prove I am appropriately attired.Originally posted by voodooflux View PostIt's not your ownership of a mac that throws your sexuality into question, it's the cross-dressing.
