    un-install programs in winXP

    On browsing through my programs list and looking in program files, I have a number of programs that I've either downloaded from freeware sites or installed from CDs over the last year or so.

    I now wnat to remove them, however they don't appear in the "add/remove software list", and they don't seem to have an uninstall file in the program file folder.

    Can I just delete the program file folder and remove any shortcuts or will this screw things up ? do I also need to do something to clean the registry up?

    I've found ZSoft Uninstaller useful, it can show you things installed that aren't in the normal list:
