    I had a similar problem with a Dell Laptop.

    Fan on all the time - got really hot.

    You may need to reset/update the BIOS as the temprature routine has gone wrong.

    The short term measure was:

    On a Dell I think it was ctrl + alt + shift and z - this immeadiatly made the cooling system work correctly for a while and then repeat.

    Ultimately, back up your drive as the it will give up sooner rather than later.
