XP - cant change "regional and language" settings in control panel

When I change the setting for Regional Options, it appears to have changed successfully, but when I look again it has reverted to "English - United States".
If you find this post offensive, please insert "Chan" before and "tho" after, then it should be OK.

      As Space Cadet said.

In Regional Settings select the Languages tab and then click the "Details" button.

You can then highlight the US entries and delete them.
