    CA virus checker thingie....

Wot a pile of stinking ordure this thingie is...

It uses IE to launch the control panel... so.. if IE is screwed... then...

Zeity in "pissed off beyond belief" mode...

Well, 123 Spyware seems to have found some tulipe and "quarantined" it...

So IE is sort of running...

Will the CA pile of tulipe also sort of run I wonder?

The CA pest thingie has kindly deigned to do something today...

It's found 22 unique thingies and 26 in all.

    So far...

There's usually a ginormous increase once it starts scanning the internet cache.

    It found about 40 things.

One of which was the 123spyware thingy I just loaded

Zeity - this is almost becoming Wilmslowical in it's banality ...

Even more banal is that the virus checker thingie didn't find anything at all...

Much wind & piss signifying nothing as the bard would say...

Try something like NoAdware and Spybot. They've not let me down so far ...

          http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/

This was good for removing the Virtumonde.FP trojan that the wife had "acquired" on her PC (no doubt looking for my favourite gimp mask or whatever).

I tried butchering around with the registry and msconfig and Norton/McAfee free innoculations but to no avail. Had Spybot, NOD32 and AdAware but the Trojan killed NOD32.

Very good prog at £24 (trial reported it but didn't clean). Sorted it out instantly.
If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.

Yes, I've heard good things of spyware doctor.

However, I'm reluctant to spend my money on their machine...

            More boring stuff:

I just discovered that Google Toolbar was making IE run like a slug on opening...

I eventually dredged from my memory that there'd been a message box from it whinging about entry points or some such a couple of days ago.

            Ho hum.
