Since I was forced to move from my previous place in North London my car has been in the hands of my parents. Going back last weekend I discover the cd with all my mp3s on not in the cd player where I expected but on the floor with a chunk missing out of it.
Now some of the songs are hard to get hold of, some I don't even know what they're called. The thing is, even with a lopsided CD, the Kenwood CD player in my car somehow managed to play most of these but trying to copy the files my PC gives a CRC error.
Is there anything in Windows XP I can change to say sod the crc error, copy it anyway? Or is there something about the car stereo that makes it more fault tolerant? If so where can I find a PC CD-Rom that can read crippled CDs? Would a data recovery service charge a load for this?
