Applet Jar load: class xxx not found (cuk messed my post)

My question before the site messed me up:

    I am trying to use the a p p l e t tag and a jar file.

    If I enter code=mything.class
    and archive="myjar.jar"
and either put codebase="where it is on sun site"

my jar class xxx is not found.

    If I put object
    OBJECT classid = "clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0001-0000-ABCDEFFEDCBA"

    It works.

Now the plugin version used to work just fine.

This is not just my jar files by the way it is every jar file
    that uses a p p l e t tag. ( e.g. the sun swingset2 sample)

I do not know whether this is sun making a pig's ear of things
I have 1.4.1_03 for merlin and the plug in.

I have .net on my machine that microsoft helped to get work
    because it would not debug.
Microsoft suggested I blow away certain registry entries.
I am not blaiming microsoft but the jar files not working is bugging me ...

I thought the a pplet tag was being depreciated in favour of object ?

          Re: applet

          Go to

          www.montegodata.co.uk/Con...tives.html

and see if you get the big fat jar file to load

and yup the blah.blah.blah convention is correct.
