yep, but it's 250$ in New York so there's not a hugh saving - and they don't ship oitside of the US...

bare in mind you can only get video on the 30GB + models which are available in black/white only. If she wants something pink (not to sound patronising there) then she'll have to have a nano which is available in 2/4 gb. You can get 8gb but thats only available in black. unless she's spending time on the train or something when she'd actually use the facility of video i doubt it's the way forward. I personally have a nano, 4gb which i'm constantly updating music on and is ideal for the gym etc

I want to get an Ipod for the wife - needs to store about 1000 tracks + photo's and videos if possible.

also eBay seems to have millions - I don't want chinese crap so is the best place to buy via the Apple On-line store ?

Quite a few big cos have discounts with Apple - employee purchase schemes etc - find a permy and ask if they get the discount if you're at a big co.

Yes , I believe you are stuck with the in-house warrenty cover. Which one would have to read in detail the specifics before purchasing. And it is an iPod....

Thats only 8GB the smallest iPod video is 30GB so can hold more photos & videos & songs - with 8GB you'd have to be taking things off all the time before putting something else on.

I've got the 30GB iPod video - came free when I upgraded my mobile phone.

I've got a couple of thousands songs on it, several long audio books and still got loads of gigs left on it for videos.
