Years ago I used a three monitor setup. Excellent for developing / testing / debugging with realistic amounts of screeen real estate. It was actually meant for some CAD stuff, but I had it for 3 months while I did the device drivers for the app.
I saw an ad for a 3 way matrox card a while ago - they were pushing it at serious gamers.
It was a tough choice but I’ve gone for a single monitor in the end. I’ve ordered a complete new system from Dell online with the new 20.3” TFT screen which looks pretty cool and hopefully has all the space I need. High spec sound card and 5.1 speakers as well which are obviously crucial for helping me avoid doing any work!! Couldn’t really justify the extra £700 for the second monitor but I’ve got the graphics card with dual monitor input though so I can slot another one in though. Plus prices are likely to plummet sometime this year I would say. I was actually tempted by the new Sony wide screen monitors and obviously the new 20” wide-screen iMac is very sexy just not practical for my work!
