No, I'm not up before the parole board again. Fact is I shall be moving to a new bachelor pad (=next step up from bedsit, and rented of course).
I want to set up a little home office in a tiny amount of space. Most of my kit is getting old and tatty so I'm up for an overhaul. Here's what I want - can any of you kind souls suggest some makes and models? Price a bit of a consideration, but the overriding ones are size and quality of output.
(1) - little flat-screen monitor
(2) - some sort of setup where you can watch TV on the PC (I don't think I'm making that up). I'm not a sound-and-vision fascist - just need to be able to make out what's going on.
(3) - Speakers to assist (2)
(4) - Phone, with answerphone, and recorder function (3 reasons: to cover me during legally binding calls; so that when I'm taking down details I can seem like a slick operator and not a divot who needs to hunt for a pencil; and of course to get value for money out of those 0898 heart-to-hearts)
(5) - Basic fax machine (ideally part of the phone I suppose).
(6) - Printer - I'm thinking of a small office one as opposed to a tacky home model where the cartridges cost more than the printer, print all fuzzy and then break. Needs to print high quality black and white. Not bothered about colour.
(7) - A4 flat bed scanner. Extra points if anybody can recommend a slick way to use to send faxes, thus dispensing with (5).
Share your good ideas, & I will be nice to you on the General forum for evermore.
